To the Old Love
The old love lives of itself,
no of foreign cultivation or of presence.
Nothing requires or asks. Nothing awaits,
but vain fate denies the sentence.
The old love has deep roots,
made of suffering and beauty.
For those it dives into the infinite
and for these supplants nature.
If the everywhere time collapses
that what was great and gorgeous,
the old love, however never dies
and each day comes more loving.
More ardent, but poor of hope.
Sadder? No. It overcame the pain,
and shines in its dark corner,
the older the more love.
