“Everything I touch turns into me”
One should never seek the thing in itself, which depends only on the mirrors.
The thing in itself, never: the thing in you.
A painter, for example, does not paint a tree: he paints himself as a tree.
And a great poet – a sort of King Midas in his way – a great poet, and he could say:
Everything I touch turns into me.
My thanks to Lídian e Túlio!
